Our Work:

Our current work primarily includes contracts with schools and preschools, with opportunities to introduce and engage in new work. We also have a current contract with a healthcare setting and we are preparing to establish local work with the elderly.

We have been building community connections over the past 5 years, and have launched an innovative new singing program which supports health and wellness, called ‘Singing Soulutions’. We are in an exciting phase of developing and refining this singing movement, including the piloting of training programs for singing leaders in the local community.

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and their own vehicle.

This position requires the applicant to live in the wider Syracuse, NY area.

Job responsibilities:

  • School and preschool music therapy in Onondaga and Oswego counties, mainly with individual clients but including some groups and co-treat sessions.

  • Managing caseload admin required by School Districts.

  • Additional admin shared by the team, working with your strengths.

  • Creating new work and advocating for music therapy in a variety of ways with team support.

  • Participating in regular team meetings, supervision, and project-based work.

  • Passion for local community; for proactively preparing inclusive, brave space; and for music and all it offers!

Our values:

We are an equal opportunities employer and all music therapists are welcome to apply.

We are queer affirming and gender affirming and are against ableism and racism in all its forms. In our practices, we continually make adaptations to open up increasingly inclusive spaces. Music has many cultural forms, and an expansion of cultural awareness and experience in our team will support us to provide a service that is more responsive and inclusive to all our clients. In the recent national census, Syracuse’s population was reported to be more than 50% non-white, and currently there are no music therapists of color in the Syracuse area. For this reason, we strongly encourage black, latinx, asian and indigenous music therapists to apply. You will have the opportunity to shape a new business and join a team of therapists who are better equipped as we work together to fulfill our vision: to encourage growth and nurture community in Central New York.

Application details: Send an email to, with a resume and a cover letter, including 200 words describing how your practice as a music therapist is informed by cultural humility.
